Babcock VC pays condolence visit to the Ibiyemis, says late publisher was a good friend to our university

The Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Prof Ademola Stephen Tayo on Friday led management staff of the university on condolence visit to Gas Line, Sango residence of the family of Late publisher of NigerianNewsDirect, Dr Samuel Ibiyemi.

Prof Ademola Tayo who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof David Alao described Dr Samuel Ibiyemi as a very good friend of the university and partner in progress who graciously allowed his medium, NigerianNewsDirect to be used to promote the noble ideals of the Seventh-Day Adventist university.

Others in the entourage of the Vice Chancellor were the Director of Marketing and Communication of the university, Dr Joshua Suleiman and Mr Godwin Ugbaka, an Assistant Director from the department.

The Vice Chancellor while extolling the virtues of the late publisher described him as a very diligent and thorough bred journalist who made distinct mark in his choice of career within his short stay on earth.

While consoling the wife and the children of the deceased, Prof Tayo said “there is no doubt that we are all saddened by the demise of Dr Samuel Ibiyemi, he was such an invaluable friend of our university, we even checked on him while on admission at our teaching hospital, we had prayed and believed that he would pull through but God knows best.

“We offer our condolences here and we urge the wife and the children to be strong for the Lord has not abandoned them. We sincerely pray that the almighty God will comfort you all, wipe away your tears and grant our departed friend eternal rest”.

On hand to receive the delegation was the wife of the deceased, Mrs Anette Ibiyemi, the children and other members of the family.
