Atiku donates N50m to Jigawa flood victims in Hadejia

The former vice president and the presidential flag bearer of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku who paid a sympathetic visit to those who lost their farm produce and other valuable properties to flooding in Hadejia area of Jigawa State has donated a whopping sum of fifty million naira to cushion the effects of the incident.

Atiku was at Hadejia Emir’s palace in Hadejia, received by thousands of PDP supporters to his admiration.

Atiku gave the sum of fifty million naira to the flood victims as his personal donation through the Emir to ease the hardships inflicted on the victims by the flood.

He said the aim of his visit was to show his concerns over what happened to the people during this year’s rainy season in which many people lost their relations and millions of naira worth of goods.

While responding, the Emir of Hadejia, who is also the Chairman Council of Chiefs in Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje said the money given to the emirate would be disbursed to farmers affected in all the 27 local government areas .

The Emir explained that the money would be shared according to the number of victims in all the affected areas in the state.

He assured of equal treatment among the affected victims to ensure justice and fairness in disbursing the donation.

He thanked the donor, Atiku for the concerns shown to flood victims in the area, assuring him of their supports and cooperation at the coming general elections of 2023.
