Atiku Campaign List: You nust reconcile Imo PDP, NWC orders Ihedioha, Anyanwu

By Everest Ezihe, Owerri

To avert imminent factionalization of Imo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the National Working Committee (NWC ), of the political party has directed her immediate past gubernatorial candidate, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, to reconcile their differences and chart the way forward for the party in the State ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The party also ordered for an immediate review of the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC list, which of recently has been a thorny issue in the state chapter of the political party.

Recall that Rt.Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as one of the apex leaders of the party in the State was named as the Imo State Chairman of the Council. The ripples started as over 90 percent of members of the Council were noticed as Ihedioha’s loyalists, a development which infuriated the Divine Mandate political camp of the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

Thus, the aggrieved Anyanwu political camp described the list as “an aberration and political insult to the state” and vowed to resist its recognition and implementation.

According to Mr. Ikenna Onuoha, Media Aide to the Distinguished Senator who spoke with Nigeria NewsDirect “the list was unacceptable to us, it was unnecessarily hijacked by Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and his cohorts”.

Recall that Ihedioha and Anyanwu presently are the two major contenders for the governorship ticket of PDP in Imo State ahead of the 2023 governorship election in the state and they have been running battles as an archy political enemies

The NWC in a recent press statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Olugunagba and made available to news mem in Owerri, said the party will review the Imo State campaign presidential council list and “that the two contending aspirants should have a private meeting and discuss the way forward to ensure a smooth, united and cohesive Presidential, National and State Assembly elections campaign for the 2023 general elections”

It stated “that the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the party should meet with critical leaders of the political party for further discussion and resolution of all issues in the State Chapter of our Party”.

It also charged all members of the political party in the State to work together to ensure the victory of the political party in the forthcoming 2023 elections which he said is divinely assured.
