The All Progressives Congress in Atakumosa West local government has endorsed Governor Gboyega Oyetola for a second term in office.
The decision was taken at a general meeting convened at the instance of the party Chairmen involving all the leaders and elders council, political appointees, ward executives and all members of the party in the eleven wards where a communique was signed and read to the journalists.
In the communique which was read by the former chairman of the local government, Chief Disu Oyedele, “it was collectively agreed and affirmed that Governor Gboyega Oyetola has performed beyond expectations as he has revamped the economy of the state, improved the security of lives and properties, paid full salaries of civil servants and pensioners as and when due, rejuvenated the infrastructure in road construction, implemented educational reform policies, revitalized 332 PHCs and general Hospitals, reengineered the agricultural revolution, engaged thousands of unemployed youths and improved the economy and financial base of the state and above all, he is consistent with servicing and repaying the loans and debts incurred by the last administration.”
In his words, “Governor Oyetola has performed excellently and creditably well and as such Atakumosa local government chapter of the party has endorsed him as the sole candidate for the 2022 gubernatorial election in Osun state,” Oyedele said.
The local government also affirmed their unwavering support to the leadership of the party at the state level ably led by Prince Gboyega Famodun, who is the chairman caretaker committee of the state, he said, “we remain an indivisible entity which remain impenetrable and unbreakable in our collective decision to strengthen the party for future elections.”
The Atakumosa West chapter of the APC also disassociated itself from The Osun Progressive (TOP), saying it is not recognized in the party constitution.
According to the chapter, “TOP is a movement within Osun APC formed by loyalist of the Former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.”
They used the opportunity of the gathering to commend the governor on his determination to revolutionize and industrialize the state economy through the mineral resources sectors of the state which is heavily domiciled in their local government area through Gold deposit. They used the occasion to appeal to the state government to ensure that the economic liberation of gold exploration in the local government bring good lives, commercial prosperity, and technical education to their people.
The communique was duly signed by all the party leaders of the local government, the political appointees, all eleven wards executives who were physically present among whom are the APC Chairman Atakumosa West Mr. Oriowo Samson, APC Chairman Atakumosa West Central LCDA Alhaji Muda Bello , Hon. Babatunde Festus Komolafe, member representing Atakumosa West and Atakumosa East state Constituency, Hon. Yemisi Komolafe, a former House of Representatives member and Hon. Anthony Adeboye, a former local Government Chairman,10 of the 11 APC Chairman amongst other notable personalities present.
