At Chieftaincy installation, Adeleke vows to transform Osun rural areas into cities

The new Asiwaju of Ede land and Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Monday vowed to turn five big towns in the state into mega cities.

Adeleke made the disclosure after the official installation as the Asiwaju of Ede land by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa I and celebration of his 64th birthday ceremony.

According to him, “Very soon all big towns in Osun State will become cities.

“Ife will become city, Ilesa will become city, Ile-Ife will become city, Iwo will become city, Ikirun will become city, Ila will become city.”

He reiterated his commitment to carrying the light of positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across the state.

Adeleke noted that his conferment as Asiwaju of Ede town is a commendation for the contributions of my family to the development of his town.

He said, “Dear friends and associates, your presence today strengthens my resolve to further devote  myself to the service of the people.

“You will continue to find in me a true peoples’ servant, a good listener and an agent of good governance.

“As i assume this new role, i seek the cooperation, prayers and support of all and sundry for our dedication to take osun to a greater height.

“Friends at home and abroad, join us as we intensely deliver dividends of democracy.

“As I am accepting the title of asiwaju of Edeland today before God and man, I dedicate it to my late father and mother; to my late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke; to my big brother, Dr. adedeji Adeleke; and my darling sister, the Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Chief Dupe Adeleke-sanni,” he said.

In his remark, Oyo State Governor, and Vice Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Seyi Makinde who spoke on behalf of other governors congratulated Governor Adeleke on his new traditional tittle

He said, ‘’I thank God for my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke. When he came in as the governor of Osun State, he challenged me that he would compete with me with infrastructure as I am doing in Oyo State, when I came today I have seen that work is ongoing in the state.

“I am the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, and I am speaking on their behalf. Dapo is here, Sanwo-Olu is also here. On behalf of all the governors, I want to congratulate you,” Governor Seyi Makinde.

Dignitaries from far and near were at the installation and birthday ceremony of the governor which includes, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun among others, including the prominent traditional rulers like the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
