Osun State Government has admonished environmental health officers across all local governments in the state to support its campaign against the festering second wave of COVID-19.
This admonition was given today, on behalf of the state government, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Mrs Abiodun Ige (rtd), while engaging the professional body.
She lamented that the government is not happy that members of the public are handling the pandemic issue with levity.
She observed that Environmental Health Officers are critical stakeholders in the prevailing campaign and that the government relies on them for ultimate victory over the virus.
Ige counselled that members of the public should work in synergy with the government to tackle the menace of the second wave of COVID-19, adding that enforcement is ongoing with the security agencies to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
She further appealed to the leadership of mosques, churches and market places as well as motorists and commuters to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
