Assault on Osun NLC chairperson stands condemned – NUEE

The National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE has condemned the recent altercation which occurred during the State Executive Council meeting of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Osun State Council.

This is as it also condemned the attack on the Caretaker Chairperson of the NLC, Osun State, Modupe Oyedele.

The leadership of the electricity workers union in a statement by its Vice President, West, Sadiq Adewale on Tuesday, warned against a repeat of the attack.

Adewale noted that it contravened the tenets of the union.

He also described the incident as an embarrassment and uncivilised not only to NUEE but to the labour movement at large.

“There are legitimate ways of expressing displeasure and handling grievances which labour leaders in Osun must employ and settle all existing grievances.

“We call for a truce beween the aggrieved members. The union would ensure that the Osun State Council of NLC and all labour leaders in Osun State adhere to her directives,” he stressed.
