Armed robbers invade Ibadan polytechnic, shoot lecturer
Some armed robbers have invaded The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
News was gathered that the armed robbers invaded the north campus of the institution in the early hours of Monday.
The armed robbers, during the invasion, stormed some flats housing some lecturers of the institution.
Our correspondent gathered that one of the lecturers in the institution, identified as Emmanuel Okedara, was shot.
It was gathered that property worth millions of naira were carted away by the armed robbers.
Findings by Newsmen revealed that the victim is currently in an undisclosed hospital.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Alhaji Soladoye Adewole, confirmed the incident to Newsmen on Monday.
Soladoye, in a telephone conversation with Newsmen, noted that the institution has put necessary security arrangements in place to forestall future occurrences.
“Yes. He is a staff of the institution. He is a teaching assistant, but you know that everybody is under our care.
“You know at this period, crime is always rampant,” he said.
“But, we have beefed up security in the campus”.
