Aret Adams Foundation holds 19th lecture series on global energy transition

The 19th Annual Aret Adams memorial lecture series was held last week at Agip Recital Hall, Muson centre Marina Lagos, in remembrance of the death of the late Chief Aret Adams.

The Annual lecture is part of the activities organised by the Aret Adams Foundation aimed at educating participants on happenings in the energy industry.

Speakers at the lecture series are often drawn from the international as well as local academic, business, oil and gas communities.

The Foundation also offer education support to students, particularly, those with financial handicap to study courses in the higher learning.

The Chairman, BOT Aret Adams Foundation,  Engr. Charles A. Osezua gave the welcome address.

In his speech, he said “This event is to educate us about energy transition how is being  in the way of life and the way energy can be obtained.”

Also speaking, the Hon. Minister of State for Environment, Chief (Mrs) Sharon Ikehazor, commended the foundation for making it necessary to educate Nigerians on global energy and the centrality of global energy transition which, according to her, has “helped us to manage climatic change.”

She said, “In 40 years, we focused attention on high level of energy. Nigeria is ready to become a global leader in climatic change and energy transition. We need to address significant part of energy transition, precisely we make sure how Nigeria can meet with energy needs in living countries.

“Nigeria also needs to address the significant challenges and explore the opportunities associated with current global energy agenda.”
