Aregbesola boycotts Osun guber poll

The Minister of Interior and immediate past governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has boycotted the ongoing governorship election in the state.
Aregbesola, a leader of the ruling party who is expected to come home by his members and followers to cast his vote in Ilesa East, Ward 8, Polling Unit 1, however, failed to show up.
When contacted on phone, Sola Fasure, the Media Aide to Aregbesola said, “Oga didn’t come home for the election.”
Fasure, however, refused to speak on the reason why his boss refused to come home for the governorship election.
Meanwhile, peacefully in Ede South, North and Ife East Local Government Area of Osun state, and other parts as scheduled by 8.00 a.m on Saturday to elect the governor of the State for the next four years.
NewsDirect reports that electoral officers and materials were deployed to polling units before 8.00 a.m. with voters already in the queue.
Some of the voters at the Ward 10 in Ede South said the process was going smoothly and that Card Readers were working optimally, saying “everything is calm”.
