APM elects new Executive in Jigawa

The Alliance People Movement (APM) has elected its Executive in Jigawa state, with Alhaji Isah Muhammed Ringim emerging as the State Chairman of the party through consensus.
At the election, which was held at NUJ Secretariat, Alhaji Isah was Acting Secretary of the party before becoming the Chairman.
Alhaji Yahaya Kuka emerged as the Vice Chairman and Hajia Habibi Ibrahim as the Secretary of the party.
In his remarks, the Chairman said the party is ever ready to participate in the 2023 general election, adding that APM is ready to empower women and youth in the state.
He explained that the party has structure and representatives in all of the 577 political wards in the state, adding that the party plans to lift women and youth from poverty.
Saying women must be considered in politics, he said, “We want women and youth to contest for any political seat that they indicate their interest.
“APM is ever ready to allow women to contest for governorship seat. Democracy is not yet mature in the country since there is no women among the gurbernatorial candidates in Jigawa state,” Ringim added.
