APC wins five Reps seat in Ogun as Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Adekoya loses seat

From the official results of Saturday presidential polls as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won five seats out of the available nine for the House of Representatives.

INEC on Sunday, declared the All Progressives Congress candidate for Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, as winner of the election.

Announcing the result at Ayetoro, headquarters of Yewa North local governmen, the Returning Officer, Prof Idowu Adeosun said that the former three time governorship candidate in Ogun State polled 29,543 votes to defeat his closest rival, Evang Olusoji Titus Eweje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 17,760 votes.

Prince Isiaka, a first class graduate of Accounting at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) governorship candidate in the state in 2011, he was the PDP governoship candidate in 2015 and ADC governorship candidate in 2019. He later defected into APC after 2019 elections.

He is expected to bring his wealth of experience as a successful professional to facilitate development projects to his constituency.

Isiaka was said to have appreciated his people for their support by counting him worthy to represent them at the hallowed chamber.

Similarly, Hon Mrs Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga of the ruling party was also declared as the House of Representatives-elect fort Remo federal constituency

Making the announcement on Sunday at Remo Federal constituency collation centre, Ikenne, the Returning Officer, Sodiya Adesina said that Hon Adewunmi Onanuga of APC recorded 32,686 votes to defeat Bola Oluwole of PDP who polled 24,658 votes while Damilare Micheal George of Labour Party scored 8,111 votes.

Hon Onanuga popularly called Ijaya is the incumbent federal lawmaker representing the constituency.

The ruling party was also declared winner of the Yewa South/Ipokia federal constituency.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Olalekan Olaoye Jacobs said that APC polled 26,171 to defeat PDP with 22, 573 votes while APM and Labour Party recorded 14,185 and 3,036 votes respectively

Hon Afolabi Afuape of APC was also said to have won the Abeokuta South Federal contituency seat.

According to the results as announced by the Returning Officer, Prof Oladele Talabi said that the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs scored 19,891 votes to defeat his closest rival, Toyin Amuzu of PDP with 13,663 votes. APM was said to have polled 5,901 votes, Labour Party recorded 6,665 votes while ADC had 1,241 votes

The Deputy Minority Chief Whip of the House of Representatives currently representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside federal constituency, Hon Abdelmajid Adesegun Adekoya of PDP equally lost to Hon Adegbesan Joseph of the APC.

According to the results announced at Ijebu Imusin collation centre by the Returning Officer, Adeyemi Bamgbose, while Adegbesan of APC had 35,708 votes Hon Adesegun Adekoya popularly called Attacker who is seeking for third term polled 25,450 votes.
