The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mr Minguno Muhammed-Tahir of All Progressive Congress (APC) as winner of the Borno North Senate seat.
Prof. Dattijo Aminu, the INEC Returning Officer, announced on Tuesday in Maiduguri.
Aminu said that Mr Tahir scored 44,813 votes to emerge winner.
He said that Tahir defeated his closest opponent, Lawan Isa of the People Democratic Party (PDP), who got 19,015 votes.
Aminu said that Amos Dawa of NNPP scored 248 votes, while Kuramodu Babagana of SDP got 217 votes.
He said that Tahir was declared winner and returned elected having satisfied the requirement of the electoral law.
News reports that the Borno North Senatorial district comprises of Marte, Monguno, Nganzai, Kaga, Magumeri, Gubio, Abadam, Mobbar, Guzamala and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno.
