APC registration: Gov. Abiodun promises mass mobilization

As the National Revalidation and Registration  Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Hon. Ademorin Kuye visits Ogun State, the governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called for mass mobilisation of the people towards the APC registration exercise.

Gov. Abiodun has equally assured the committee members of his government maximum support towards an hitch free exercise saying that his administration remained committed to strengthening the party in the state.

The governor made this call at stakeholders meeting between party leaders in the state and the National Revalidation and Registration Committee members of the ruling party held at the Oba’s Complex, Oke mosan, Abeokuta.

Present at the meeting were the Deputy governor, Engr. Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele who represented Gov Abiodun, Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib.

Others were Speaker of the State House Assembly, Rt Hon Olakunle Oluomo and other members of the state assembly, former members of the national assembly such as Sen. Gbenga Kaka, Sen. Lekan Tejuoso and Sen. Akin Odunsi

Members of House of Representatives at the event were Hon Kola Lawal, Hon. Kolawole Osunsanya, Hon Lanre Edun, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele and Hon. (Mrs) Adewunmi Onanuga as well as chairmen of the the 20 local governments among others.

Abiodun who was represented by his deputy, Engr.  Noimot-Salako Oyedele stressed the need for party leaders and stakeholders in all the local government areas of the state to mobilise members en-masse, especially at the grassroot level for the registration saying that this exercise has become expedient for the survival of the political party.

“As soon as the registration commences, we would provide a monitoring team from Abeokuta to all Local governments to ensure the exercise goes on smoothly. This is to provide the needed support to the committee particularly logistics and any other area for which the need might arise” he said

In his remarks, the state party chairman, Alhaji Yemi Sanusi, said the meeting was at the instance of the APC National working Committee to educate members on the registration and revalidation exercise, appealing to them not to forget to observe all COVID-19 protocols during the entire process.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Ogun State membership registration committee,  Hon. Ademorin Kuye, said the meeting was critical towards repositioning the party, urging party loyalists to key into the initiative as well as co-operate with the committee.

Hon. Kuye described the registration exercise as one that must be seen as a joint task force to increase members of the party and make it more dynamic and formidable as ever.

He said, “Party registration and membership is no longer business as usual as President Buhari has said that appointment would not be given to outsiders again but party members who have to be competent in their dedicated fields. The issue of technocrats does not arise again, as technocrats you must be card carrying members of the party for you to get any appointment. Era of monkey dey work baboon dey chop is long gone.”
