APC inaugurates executive members in Ikorodu LGA
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government Area (LGA) on Friday inaugurated a 27-member executive team to steer its affairs in the next four years.
Recall that on March 26, the state APC chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, inaugurated the LGA Chairmen at the secretariat and directed them to inaugurate their LG Excos.
Speaking on behalf of the executives, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, the LGA party Chairman, appreciated leaders of the party for the provision of a befitting edifice as secretariat of APC in Ikorodu central.
Animashaun promised to ensure that the new executives worked tirelessly to ensure victory of the party’s flagbearers at all levels during the 2023 general elections.
The Chairman vowed to reposition the party, reconcile all aggreived members and ensure even distribution of opportunities among members.
He assured that he would also maintain discipline among members.
“We shall ensure that we maintain the good relationship between the constituted authorities and the party.
“We will reposition the party with genuine reconciliation among aggreived members and ensure that our party wins all elective positions in Ikorodu.
“We will aggressively mobilise voters to vote for all our candidates from the presidency to the state Assemblies in Ikorodu,” he said.
Also speaking, the chairman of Ikorodu local government, Mr Wasiu Adesina, promised to support the party for a total reconciliation.
He urged the executives to prioritise welfare of their members.
“Today is important in the history of the local government and I am happy that I witnessed this event.
“I want to encourage the executives to ensure adequate welfare for members and genuine reconciliation to grow from strength to strength.
“Of course, in any contest, there is always a victor and a vanquished, definitely some will be greived,” he said.
Also speaking, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, commended party leaders over the conduct of successful primaries and the emergence of Bola Tinubu as presidential flagbearer of APC.
Ogunleye appealed to party leaders to ensure that challenges were resolved at the local level among the new executives so that he could concentrate on the state at the party level.
“I appreciate our members who voted for Bola Tinubu to emerge as our flagbearer during the primaries at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
“The work has not stopped, we should get our PVCS and vote for our national leader for presidency.”
