APC chieftain hits Okowa over IGR
By Dave Okpogadie, Asaba
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has been accused by an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in the state over what he claimed as the governor’s deliberate refusal to explain in clear terms to Deltans, what the state realises monthly as internally generated revenue (IGR).
Engineer Patrick Ishie, the Ndokwa west local government council coordinator of Ovienebi 2023 governorship slammed Okowa for ensuring that issues related to internally generated revenue ( IGR), in Delta state is shrouded in secrecy which he claimed is not good for the image of the state.
According to him, Deltans are entitled to know what the state generates on monthly basis as her internally generated revenues and lwhat the state governor is utilising such money for.
He berated the governor for not adhering to the principles of fairness, transparency and accountability in respect of the internally generated revenues, even as he admitted that the level of development in Delta state is not commensurate with what the state gets as her sources of revenue.
Engineer Patrick Ishie, who stated that he is not surprised the governor is behaving that way, labelled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party which lack ethos, discipline and clear cut manifestos for the citizens of the country.
He advised Deltans to vote out Peoples Democratic Party in all elective possitions in the forthcoming elections in the state, saying with the Okowa’s abysmal performance,it is very evident that the party has nothing positive to offer the citizens.
Engineer Patrick Ishie urged Deltans to vote massively for His Excellency Ovie Omo-Agege and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi and all APC candidates for elective positions in 2023.
He said ” if one assess, analyse and X-ray properly, the EDGE” programme of Ovie Omo-Agege is second to non, as it will usher in era of even development, progress and growth for the various sectors of the state.
