Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP) has commended the actions of the Managing Director, Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu over the massive debt recovery drive the agency has embarked on to enable it meet its operational and other costs.
This is just as ANAP commended Captain Yadudu for putting staff matters at the the forefront of his management style by setting up the taskforce responsible for the revenue recovery
The letter signed by the General Secretary of ANAP, Comrade Abdulrasaq Saidu also stated that despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic especially on the agency’s revenue, the airport manager was still able to meet many outstanding welfare matters in spite of the shortfalls warranting the letter.
The letter read in part, “Looking back at last year 2020 and the unfortunate effects on aviation of COVID-19 pandemic particularly as it seriously affected FAAN’s revenue, we wish to commend and appreciate your good self and your management team for efforts to ensuring that, Salaries, 13th month and some other outstanding welfare matters were paid, in spite of the fall in revenue due to the COVID-19 world-wide pandemic financial effects.”
The ANAP letter particularly mentioned the implementation of Ministerial approval for review of Conditions of service of certain grades, full remittance of cooperatives deductions from salaries, pension as well as palliatives.
However, the association made an appeal for prompt implementation and payment of other outstanding issues which includes payment of salary disparities between GL 15 above and GL 14 below as contained in the last communique signed by the management.
