The Anambra Police Command has decorated 13 newly promoted officers of the command.
The officers were decorated by the State Commissioner of Police Mr. Echeng Echeng at the Police Headquarters Amawbia, Awka, on Thursday.
The officers involved were Divisional Police Officers with the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police but were elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Others were officers who were promoted from Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while one police inspector was decorated with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
Addressing the promoted officers, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Echeng thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Alkali Baba for finding the officers worthy to be elevated to the next rank.
Echeng said the promotion is from God and comes with enormous responsibilities and charged the officers to discharge their new assignments dispassionately and eschew all forms of compromise,“ all eyes are on you to ensure that the fundamental rights of the people are protected at all times. How you discharge your duty would determine the height you would eventually attain in the Police Force,” he said
He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the force’s amiable Inspector-General IGP Usman Baba Alkali for continuously finding officers of the Anambra State Command worthy of elevation.
Expressing profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the management team of the Anambra State Police Command, newly promoted ACP, Amina Yakubu, who was the only female officer amongst the 13 newly decorated officers, promised that they would not betray the Nigeria Police Force in their new assignments.
