Anambra: Fresh crisis hits PDP, as Party Chair attacks Uche Ekwunife

Joshua Elekwachi, Abuja

The embattled state Chairman of PDP, Anambra state, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu has called on the National leadership of PDP to reject the results of delegate election that may emanate from Anaocha LGA of the state.

The Chairman accused one Dr Cyrillic Nnamuchi, the returning officer in Anaocha of conniving with Mr Chibuzo Oli, a campaign team member to Sen. Uche Ekwunife, of having subverted the election. He alleged that both disappeared with result sheets and were never seen again.

“Any purported result from the said Mr Nnamuchi is a forgery and should be rejected. I made this known to the able Chairman & members at the party secretariat during the cause of collation.  I stand to be corrected, if this is not the true record of events at Anaocha LGA. I expect the committee to nullify any purported result emanating from Anaocha,” Nwobu stated.

In a related development, an aide to Hon. Chris Chris Emeka Azubogu a Governorship Aspirant to the June 26 PDP primaries for November 6 governorship election, Mr Chris McCool Nwosu has cried out that some respected leaders of PDP in the state are about to doctor the results of adhoc delegate election of the party held on Friday.

Mr McCool warned that any attempt to change the results will spell doom for PDP.

“Ongoing attempts by some respected Anambra PDP leaders to change results of Friday’s Ad-hoc Delegates Congress ‘ll spell DOOM for everyone…” he declared.

While all these are going on, the new state chairman of PDP Anambra state, Chief Chukwudi Umeaba in a statement at Awka Saturday said he has nullified the adhoc delegate election and that he would meet with the national Leadership of PDP for a new date to be set.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja last week sacked Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu as the state Chairman of the party and declared Chief Chukwudi Umeaba as the substantiative Chairman of the party.
