Anambra 2021: I have resolved to enthrone APC — Nwankwo

An aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, Dr Chidozie Nwankwo, says he’s coming with a revolution to enthrone the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Nwankwo said this while speaking with journalists after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the APC National Secretariat on Monday in Abuja.

“If I become the APC candidate and win, my mission will be to improve the lots of the people of Anambra,” Nwankwo said.

The governorship aspirant, who said he had businesses in seven countries across the world, added that he had the capacity to turn around the fortunes of Anambra.

He said that he would do this by effectively managing the state’s human, mineral and financial resources, adding that he was in the race to change the political landscape and change the fortune of the people.

He, however, decried the spate of insecurity in the South East especially, adding that absolute peace would be restored in Anambra once a good leadership was enthroned.

He said that he would effectively engage youths in the state in agriculture and other programmes to address restiveness.

Speaking on the type of primaries to be adopted to pick the party’s candidate for the election slated for Nov. 6, Nwankwo said such a decision should be taken by the APC leadership.

“The party knows the rules and regulations and I will want the party itself to decide the model or template to use to manage the coming primaries,” Nwankwo said.

He promised to reposition the state in the economy and build industrial parks.

The aspirant also pledged to bring better values in governance by prioritising projects and expenditures.

Speaking on the power of incumbency in Anambra, the aspirant said his legacy as leader of the Onitsha Main Market superseded any incumbency influence in the state.

He said that he would ensure an agricultural revolution that would positively impact the state and its people while ensuring security.

“I am a catalyst, throughout my life. I have always brought change to whatever I do.

“My records show that in every field of human endeavor I have engaged in, I have brought changes not only in Nigeria but across the world,” he said.

Our Correspondent reports that Nwankwo hails from Oko,  Orumba North Local Government Area of  Anambra.
