…retains position as Nigeria’s most valuable Bank

Zenith Bank Plc has made history on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) by becoming the first Nigerian financial institution to cross the ₦5 trillion market capitalization threshold.

This landmark achievement cements the bank’s status as the most valuable banking stock in the country and crowns a period of exceptional growth.

Between December 2025 and March 2026, the bank’s share price surged from ₦61.80 to an all-time high of ₦113.30. By the close of the market on April 20, 2026, the momentum further propelled the share price to ₦127.20, bringing Zenith Bank’s total market valuation to ₦5.2 trillion.

This bullish market sentiment is firmly supported by the bank’s robust financial results for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025.

Zenith Bank Plc reported gross earnings of ₦4.19 trillion, a 6% increase from the ₦3.97 trillion recorded in 2024.

Market analysts attribute this record-breaking performance to the strategic leadership of Group Managing Director and CEO Adaora Umeoji.

Since assuming the role, Umeoji has prioritized capital strength, digital transformation, and international expansion.

A major core banking system upgrade in 2024 significantly improved operational efficiency, while the launch of the eaZy by Zenithdigital wallet and advanced data analytics for risk management have resonated strongly with investors.

These initiatives have not only enhanced the customer experience but also reduced operational friction across the bank’s extensive network.

Zenith Bank global competitiveness remains a key pillar of its success, as evidenced by its 16th consecutive year as Nigeria’s top bank by Tier-1 capital in The Banker’s “Top 1000 World Banks” ranking.

With a stable funding base of ₦24.33 trillion in customer deposits and a footprint spanning the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, China, and several African nations, the bank is well-positioned for sustainable growth.

This ₦5 trillion milestone signals a new era of market leadership and reinforces investor confidence in the bank’s long-term strategy within an evolving global financial landscape.
