The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a scathing critique against former Anambra State governor and presidential hopeful Peter Obi, accusing him of lacking the leadership capacity to handle political challenges.
Speaking during a media briefing in Abuja, Wike categorized Obi as an opportunistic politician who prefers food-is-ready situations rather than building or stabilizing political parties during times of crisis.
The Minister pointed out Obi’s frequent migrations between political platforms, tracing his movements from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and most recently, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Wike argued that true leadership requires standing up to internal party friction rather than fleeing from it, contrasting Obi’s frequent defections with his own decision to remain within the PDP despite experiencing intense personal and political challenges.
