Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday declared the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, as a worthy successor capable of sustaining and advancing the developmental achievements of his administration.
Governor Abiodun made the declaration at the CAUCUS 7202 Mega Rally held at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, where party leaders, members, support groups and thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered in a massive show of solidarity for the APC and its candidates.
Addressing the crowd, Abiodun stressed that a rancour-free succession remains critical to sustaining development, protecting investments and ensuring continuity in governance.
“The beauty of a rancour-free succession is that it engenders continuity, promotes economic sustainability and advances the cause of the common man,” the Governor said.
He noted that his administration had demonstrated its commitment to continuity by completing inherited projects that were beneficial to the people, irrespective of the administration that initiated them.
Expressing confidence in Senator Adeola, Abiodun described him as an experienced politician with the competence and understanding required to manage the affairs of Ogun State.
“By the grace of God, I have a worthy successor; someone who has the political experience and sagacity, someone who is a good manager of resources and human beings, someone who is a chartered accountant and someone who understands governance and continuity,” he declared.
In his remarks, Senator Adeola thanked Governor Abiodun, the leadership of CAUCUS 7202 and the large gathering of supporters, describing the impressive turnout as a clear indication of the growing strength of the APC across Ogun State.
“We are not going to leave you behind. We will carry you along. We will get you involved in the government. We are going to be partners in progress,” Adeola assured the gathering.
The APC governorship candidate pledged to consolidate the achievements of the Abiodun administration and ensure that ongoing and future investments translate into greater economic opportunities and improved living standards for the people.
“We are going to continue the good work of the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. We are coming not only to complete the good work, but also to continue the good work and take Ogun State to the next level,” he said.
Adeola also announced an ambitious target of delivering two million votes in Ogun State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging party members and support groups to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the State.
He said the APC would continue to spread its message of development and good governance, while ensuring that the gains recorded under the Abiodun administration are preserved and expanded.
The CAUCUS 7202 Mega Rally, organised under the banner of “One People. One Voice. One Future,” further demonstrated the mobilisation strength of the coalition and provided a platform for the APC leadership to reinforce its message of unity, continuity and sustained development ahead of the 2027 general elections.
