Senator Ibrahim Lamido, representing the Sokoto East Senatorial District, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing escalating insecurity and concerns over the welfare of his constituents.
Announcing his decision on Saturday via his official X account, Lamido stated that his resignation was prompted by the party’s failure to effectively tackle growing security challenges, including banditry and kidnappings, which have increasingly ravaged local communities in his district.
Meanwhile, in Yobe State, the member representing the Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency, Hon. Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his recent resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawmaker disclosed the move on Sunday via his official Facebook page, noting that the decision followed careful reflection and wide consultations.
Jakduwa stated that his choice was driven by a desire to align with a platform that would enhance his capacity to serve and attract more development opportunities to his constituency.
He expressed confidence that the move would strengthen collective efforts toward improving the lives of his people and thanked the APC leadership for their warm reception.
He assured his supporters that his dedication to service remains firm as he continues to work for the progress of Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
