The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has urged Nigerians to channel any political anger or dissatisfaction toward candidates strictly through the ballot box rather than resorting to violence or intimidation during campaigns.
Reacting to the recent incident in Benue State where NDC Presidential candidate, Peter Obi faced obstruction on his proposed visit to Yilwatda, Keyamo emphasized that political disagreements should never degenerate into the obstruction of candidates.
He maintained that every political leader must be allowed to move freely and engage citizens without crude interference, regardless of whether a protest stems from internal party squabbles or rival political friction.
Insisting that violence has no place in a democratic society, Keyamo stressed that true accountability rests with the electorate on election day.
“Whoever feels dissatisfied with any candidate or party, he noted, should reserve their judgment and express their frustration with a simple thumbprint on voting day rather than through disruptive acts,” he said.
