Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has married a fourth wife, Hiqma, in a quiet wedding ceremony held in Abuja on Saturday.
The private event was attended by close family members and friends, marking a personal milestone for the former governor. The union was publicly acknowledged by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza Yahaya Bello, who took to Instagram to welcome the new bride.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” she wrote.
Bello, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), served as governor of Kogi State from 2016 to 2023. He rose to national attention as the youngest sitting governor in Nigeria at the time of his inauguration.
Before his marriage to Hiqma, Bello was already married to three women: Amina Oyiza Bello, Rashida Yahaya Bello, and Hafiza Bello. Despite his high political profile, the former governor has largely kept his family life out of the spotlight.
A graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Bello remains an influential voice in Nigeria’s political landscape. His latest marriage adds to the growing household of one of the country’s most talked-about former governors.
