In a trending post on X, social commentator Lara Olayinka has called for urgent attention to issues surrounding family planning and child welfare, particularly in Northern Nigeria. She warned of severe, long-term social consequences if these challenges remain unaddressed.
Olayinka argued that individuals who lack the financial capacity to adequately provide for their existing families should avoid marrying multiple wives or having a large number of children.
Expressing deep concern for the future, Olayinka noted that vulnerable and abandoned children are frequently exposed to extreme poverty, a lack of education, and social neglect. She suggested that these factors create a cycle of hardship that could significantly contribute to national insecurity in the years to come.
