A birthday celebration post on X has spiralled into a heated online drama, sparking debates about relationships, loyalty and social media exposure.
The situation began when a user, Victoria A (@iamzioraa), shared a photo of her boyfriend during a birthday dinner.
“It’s my baby’s birthday, took him out to dinner and I took the picture. Happy birthday Ayanfemi ❤️,” she wrote.
However, what appeared to be a simple romantic post quickly took a dramatic turn.
Another user, Moyo (@yosore23), reposted the photo, questioning the identity of the man.
“Wait please, Victoria, is this person Lade? He stays in Falolu, Surulere. He’s my close friend’s boyfriend. His birthday was yesterday, but he cancelled plans with her, saying he had work in Challenge, Ibadan. I really hope I’m wrong 👀, make I first go show my friend,” she wrote.
Moments later, Moyo shared screenshots of chats with her friend, who reportedly confirmed the man’s identity after seeing the photo. The reaction suggested shock and heartbreak.
“She don finally wake, wake up to her heart broken 💔😭,” Moyo added.
The development triggered a back-and-forth between both parties.
Responding publicly, Victoria expressed disappointment that the issue was brought to the timeline instead of being handled privately.
“Someone sent this to my dm, Moyo it shouldn’t have been you, we’re mutuals and you know your way to my dm but you choose to bring it to the TL, is everything fine at home? Anyways, is your friend Precious? I know her, we spoke about her too. She’s the young one and please she should tell you they broke up already, it’s time to move on,” she said.
Victoria also claimed she had reached out privately, urging Moyo to take the post down.
“Moyo, I sent you a dm. Please take this down,” she added.
But Moyo refused, escalating the situation further.
“If I take am down, make I benddd. You don mad,” she replied.
The clash has since drawn widespread reactions, with users weighing in on issues of relationships, privacy and social media behaviour.
One user, @minutesimal_, commented:
“This is why I always advise people to post their partner, even if you won’t show their face. Someone that is also dating them will definitely recognise them. Now two people are sharing better half.”
