Renowned activist, Aisha Yesufu has revealed why she has de idea to contest for the Senatorial seat of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a post on X, she said after years of challenging the status quo from the frontlines of protest, she is now seeking a seat in the National Assembly to transition from demanding accountability to personally enforcing it through legislation.
Yesufu noted that while her role as an activist allowed her to highlight systemic problems, the Senate provides the necessary platform to implement actual solutions.
Emphasizing the specific needs of the Federal Capital Territory, Yesufu argued that a better Abuja will not build itself and requires the deliberate application of constitutional power.
She maintained that her campaign is driven by the need to acquire the constitutional backing required to move beyond identifying failures and toward actively rebuilding the nation’s capital through structured reform.
