The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries committee in Kwara State, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has given reasons why the scheduled Kwara governorship primaries was postponed.
Addressing journalists, the former Senator said that the scheduled Kwara governorship primaries were postponed due to logistical issues.
“We postponed the election due to logistical issues. We arrived late, and to be fair to all and ensure the effective management of the election, we needed a full day to conduct it,” Obanikoro said at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin.
He assured that the committee is ready and the election will hold on Friday across the state.
Ten governorship aspirants attended the strategic meeting on Thursday evening. Those in attendance included Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki (MFR), Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, Engr. Femi Sanni, Dr. Tajudeen Alabi, Aisha Ahmad-Patigi, Mohammed Bio, Musiliat Yetunde Adebowale, Dr. Muideen Salako, and Captain Ahmad Mahmoud.
Obanikoro called on all the aspirants to view the victory of any candidate as a collective win for the success of the party.
“We should see a victory belonging to one as belonging to all. No one should view the victory of a fellow member as something against their personal interest, provided it is true that the interest of the party is supreme.”
“It is a family meeting. I am an APC member from Lagos, and I am here to have a conversation with members of the APC family. Today, we met regarding the governorship primaries coming up tomorrow, and we sat down to have a frank conversation with one another as members of one family,” Obanikoro added.
