Wema Bank Plc has announced its plans to pay shareholders a final dividend of N1.25 per ordinary share for the 2025 financial year.

This was disclosed in a notice filed on Nigerian Exchange Limited on April 22, 2026, and signed by Company Secretary, Johnson Lebile.

The first-generation bank also set April 29, 2026, as the qualification date, as payment is scheduled electronically for May 20, 2026.

It stressed that only shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members at the close of business on that date will be eligible, subject to withholding tax and regulatory approval.

The bank also charged shareholders yet to enroll for e-dividend to download the Mandate Activation Form from Greenwich Registrars’ website and complete it.

Holders of unclaimed dividend warrants and share certificates were also urged to complete e-dividend registration or contact the Registrar to validate outstanding payments.

Meanwhile, Wema Bank further disclosed that its Annual General Meeting will be held virtually on May 20, 2026, coinciding with the dividend payment date.

As one of Nigeria’s oldest indigenous lenders, Wema Bank has closed trading on the NGX ahead of the disclosure.
