A multiple-vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday on the Iyana Iba flyover, inward Volks, involving a Toyota Camry, a mini commercial bus, and a Mitsubishi pickup van.
According to reports from the scene, the incident was caused by brake failure compounded by driver impatience along the busy corridor.
The Iyana Iba–Volks axis, located within the Ojo Local Government Area, is a critical segment of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway known for high traffic due to its linkage between residential settlements and commercial hubs.
Over time, the corridor has recorded numerous incidents associated with mechanical faults and traffic indiscipline, particularly during peak periods.
Officers from the PPL Police Station were promptly notified and deployed to the scene to carry out an assessment and coordinate the evacuation of the affected vehicles.
Traffic management personnel were also on the ground to regulate movement and prevent congestion on the flyover.
Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded in the incident, and only minor injuries were reported. The vehicles involved were subsequently cleared from the roadway, ensuring that traffic flow was not significantly disrupted.
