Two homosexuals, on October 2, 2025, escaped death by the whiskers after residents were alerted to their unnatural acts at the Spadob Hotel Alakahia, Port Harcourt, in Rivers State.
Our correspondent reports that the two men had been in an illicit relationship since their university days.
They were in the hotel consummating the illegal relationship when a hotel staff raised an alarm, that attract other guests and neighbours.
The culprits are Ajomiwe Clinton Chidera, a native of Obinaocha in Nkwere Local Government Area, Imo State Nigeria and Chinemerem John Okonkwo.
They are both graduates of the University of Port Harcourt.
A competent source hinted that they had arranged a secret marriage at the said hotel, with a pentecostal pastor, simply identified as Ohaegbulem Promise.
According to the source, “they were about to have the unlawful marriage when hotel staff raised the alarm, attracting the community vigilante group, some youths and elders of Alakahia, who swiftly alerted the men of the Nigeria police.”
“It would have been an immediate jungle justice but they escaped from the hotel rear gate. That’s the only thing that saved them from death,” the source revealed.
However, it was gathered that a team of policemen who were also alerted to the scene, were on the trail of the suspects.
The Rivers State Police Command said in its bulletin that the suspects would be charged to court for engaging in acts of homosexuality, which is entirely against the Nigerian law.
“The duo of Ajomiwe Clinton Chidera and Chinemerem John Okonkwo have been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police, Rivers State Command, for their involvement in homosexual activity.
“They were last seen at Spadob Hotel Alakahia, Port Harcourt, in Rivers State.
“Anybody with useful information on their whereabouts should report to the nearest police station or any other security agency,” the bulletin read.
In another development, the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Daniel Ogbonda-Dodoo has also announced the banishment of the suspects.
“They are not to be seen anywhere around the community for committing taboo and desecrating the land,” he warned.
