TTP boosts maritime investment with advanced technologies, eyes nationwide expansion

3 Dec 2025

Truck Transit Parks Limited (TTP), operators of the electronic call-up system, Eto, has highlighted major investment in technology to improve efficiency at Lagos ports, reporting that 900,000 trucks used the platform at Apapa and Tin-Can Ports between January and November 2025.

TTP Managing Director, Mr. Jama Onwubuariri, told the Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria (SCAN) in Lagos that the company is deploying cutting-edge solutions to modernize port operations and cargo evacuation.

Key investments include an Electronic Tagging System, the e-Column Interchange Transaction Log, and the YAD traffic management solution, all designed to minimize delays, reduce human interference, and improve throughput.

“The Electronic Tagging System not only tracks trucks efficiently but also provides opportunities for seamless access across multiple facilities, creating a more reliable and investment-friendly maritime ecosystem,” Onwubuariri said.

He added that these innovations enhance the capacity of shippers, transporters, port operators, and FMCG companies to optimize operations, underscoring the sector’s potential for further investment.

Highlighting plans for growth, Onwubuariri revealed that TTP is exploring expansion of the Eto system to other Nigerian states, including Cross River, Abia, Kaduna, Bauchi, and Yobe.

The company sees this as an opportunity to attract additional investments in infrastructure and technology, reinforcing its role as a key driver of efficiency and modernization in the maritime sector.

Onwubuariri also expressed optimism over the renewal of TTP’s licence, citing the proven impact of the Eto platform as a strong case for continued investment in Nigeria’s ports and logistics infrastructure.
