President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to arrive in Jos today to commiserate with the government and people of Plateau State following recent gun attacks that claimed the lives of innocent citizens.

The visit follows a meeting on Tuesday with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who briefed the President on the evolving security situation in the state, outlining the scale of the violence and the measures being taken in response.

Earlier plans had placed the President at the Gateway International Cargo Airport for the formal launch of operations; however, the Jos visit has now taken precedence as part of efforts to engage directly with affected communities and state authorities.

After concluding his engagements in Plateau, Tinubu will travel to Lagos to observe Good Friday. According to a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President is expected in Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, 2026, for the official commencement of operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

During the Ogun visit, the President will also inaugurate the newly completed Federal Operations Unit edifice of the Nigerian Customs Service, alongside a fleet of operational vehicles intended to strengthen enforcement and logistics capacity.

He will subsequently return to Lagos, where a series of major infrastructure projects completed under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu are lined up for commissioning. These include the Opebi/Ojota Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System building, a newly constructed school complex, and a Multi-Agency Complex named in his honour.

Further extending the tour, Tinubu is expected to visit Bayelsa State, where he will meet Governor Douye Diri and preside over the inauguration of additional completed projects, before returning to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to resume official duties.
