President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Archbishop Francis Wale Oke, on his 70th birthday, praising his contributions to Christianity, education and human development.
In a statement issued by the State House on September 8, 2026, the President described the cleric as a respected spiritual leader whose life and ministry have been devoted to spreading the Gospel of Christ.
Tinubu also recognised Oke’s role as the founder of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, noting that his commitment to evangelism had helped reach and inspire millions of people across the world.
The President said the archbishop had distinguished himself through years of religious service and leadership, particularly as a two-time President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
“As a celebrated spiritual leader and two-time President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, you have distinguished yourself through integrity, humility, spiritual commitment, and courageous leadership,” Tinubu said.
He commended the cleric for promoting peaceful coexistence and understanding, saying Oke had consistently used his influence to encourage unity and dialogue.
“You have consistently championed mutual respect, dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence,” the President said.
“Through your words and actions, you have shown that faith, when genuinely rooted in love for God and humanity, should build bridges across boundaries.”
Tinubu also praised the cleric’s contribution to the education sector as the co-founder and Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University, which has provided learning opportunities for thousands of Nigerian youths.
The President said Oke’s investment in education reflected his commitment to the development of future generations and the broader progress of the country.
According to Tinubu, the Sword of the Spirit Ministries had become an important platform for proclaiming the Christian faith and sharing messages of salvation, hope, faith and restoration with people across different parts of the world.
“Through the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, your commitment to evangelism has found a powerful instrument for proclaiming the Gospel, reaching and leading millions across the world to embrace the message of salvation, hope, faith, and restoration,” he stated.
Reflecting on the cleric’s journey and achievements at 70, Tinubu said Archbishop Oke had remained committed to serving God and humanity while providing leadership, advocating peace and promoting religious harmony.
The President also prayed for Oke’s continued strength, good health and many more years of service, expressing confidence that the Pentecostal leader would continue to make meaningful contributions to the church, education and the wider society.
