President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned the Transit Way N2 which connects the Central Business District to Wuye District in Abuja. The road is complete with two strategic bridges.

This newly developed route is a very important piece of the Federal Capital Territory’s master plan, designed to ease traffic flow, enhance connectivity and improve urban mobility for millions of commuters, residents, and businesses in the FCT.

The road commissioned on the 20th day of 31-day project inauguration is one of the projects executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration to commemorate the third anniversary of the Tinubu administration.

Tinubu who was represented by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration was not just a slogan on billboards but a living reality that the Nigerian people can see, touch and drive upon.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President of the Senate on Media/Communication, Anietie Ekong quoted President Tinubu as saying: “For years traveling between Wuse and the Central Business District meant navigating bottlenecks, losing productive man-hours, and enduring frustrating traffic gridlock. Today that has changed.

“This link between these two very key Districts is not just a road; it is an economic artery. By cutting down travel times and bridging these two major Districts, we are opening up new commercial corridors.

“Indeed the project symbolizes progress and a reflection of my administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda- an Agenda committed to building infrastructure that serves the people, unlocks economic potentials, and supports sustainable development.”

President Tinubu who was full of commendation for the Minister of the FCT, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike praised him for his vision, commitment to quality and timely execution of projects. “You have contributed to something larger than a roadway – you have contributed to the future of our capital,” he said.

Earlier Wike had thanked the President for his intervention to make the FCT Administration to deliver quality projects by granting the exclusion of the FCT from the Treasury Single Account. He said this singular intervention has enabled the FCT Administration to execute so many infrastructural projects in the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike praised the Contractor for delivering the road project to be part of the projects commissioned to mark the third year anniversary of the Tinubu administration despite the shortness of time.

He said a fuller scope of what the administration of President Tinubu has done in the FCT would be unveiled at the last day of the 31-day project commissioning. He also thanked the National Assembly for their prompt consideration of the FCT Administration’s budget.

He charged the residents to guard and protect the infrastructure in the FCT for generations yet unborn.
