A tenant, Malam Haruna Abubakar, on Wednesday begged a Shari’a Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna to order his former landlord, Fahad Idris, to return his N100,000.
The complainant said he paid N300,000 to Idris as annual rent and for structural repairs on the house.
“He kept stalling on the repairs and I got tired and informed the landlord that I was no longer interested in the house. I asked for a refund so that I can rent another place .
“He paid me N200,000 remaining N100,000. After several promises, he failed to pay the balance”, he said.
Idris did not deny the allegations.
“I have N50,000 with me and I will pay the remaining balance by the end of September,” he said.
The Judge, Malam Mu’awiyah Shehu, directed Idris to pay the remaining N50,000 within one month.
