The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa has declared that technology-driven learning is key to human capital development in the country.
Reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to building a future-ready and globally competitive education system, Alausa highlighted ongoing curriculum reforms, expansion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and digital initiatives such as the Learner Identification Number and cloud-based Annual School Census to strengthen data-driven planning.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Katsina State Smart Secondary School, Radda, alongside the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, Dr. Alausa hailed the Smart School as a strategic intervention that goes beyond infrastructure, representing innovation, opportunity, and a deliberate investment in the nation’s future workforce.
He noted that the institution is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a digital, knowledge-driven global economy.
The Minister commended the Katsina State Government’s Build Your Future Blueprint, noting its alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian Education Sector Renewal Initiative.
In his remarks, Governor Radda described the project as a deliberate investment in the future of Katsina’s children, particularly those from underserved communities.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commended the initiative and urged stakeholders to maximise its opportunities.
