The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop misinforming the public about the alleged hijack of Local Government funds in the state.

The party, in a statement on Saturday signed by the APC Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi said the State Government is well aware that the funds have been disbursed to the legitimate local government chairmen elected on the platform of the APC.

The Party further noted that it is disheartening that the state commissioner for education, Mr. Dipo Eluwole, could have the audacity to be stating on a radio programme monitored in Osogbo today, meant for periodic accountability of Governor Adeleke’s government, that the Federal Government has been withholding the federal allocations meant for the state when the contrary has been the case.

“Is Eluwole living in the moon for him not to know and free his conscience to tell the people that there is no element of truth in anyone accusing the Federal Government of seizing the local government allocations meant for the state?”

“Why would it be impossible for the education commissioner and his cohorts not to have the knowledge of the fact that the reinstated local government APC chairmen are the beneficiaries of the 10th February, 2025  Court of Appeal judgement which granted all the prayers of the incumbent APC State executives who have been performing their constitutional duties in their various local government council areas? Is Eluwole so forgetful that his party failed to explore the appeal opportunity of the Court of Appeal judgment which reinstated the APC local government council chairmen and councillors?,” the Party queried.

The statement further read: “Does Eluwole think that any one no matter his level of milk of human kindness would be handy to help the administration of Adeleke whose symbol of authority in the state strangely and unjustifiably spent over N600 million for the reconstruction of a Sango shrine in Ede, his town?”

“It was even a fallacy as pushed to the public during the radio programme that the Adeleke-led government stopped the feeding of the pupils of the public schools because of the purported issue they have been having with the local government allocations when the actual fact is that the incumbent government never operated the school feeding programme for more than three months.”

“The self-adulation of the state government as stated by the Adeleke education commissioner that Osun State has become an exemplary example among the comity of the other states in Nigeria is balderdash as there is nothing on ground to confirm this outright misinformation of the innocent people of the state.”

“The conditional promise of the Governor Adeleke administration that it would employ more teachers during his second term is an indication that the wobbled government is not employing any teacher again as its defeat during the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 governorship election is imminent when the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji(AMBO) will send Adeleke back to Ede.”

“Mr. Mayowa Adejoorin, the state commissioner for environment in his own case has a lot of explanation to make for stating during the programme that it is illegal for any one in the state to place his packaged waste at the median of the road. The question is, if such act is illegal, why is it that some of the government vehicles sometime collect the wastes from the median?.”

“The whole state accountability radio  programme which was hooked on to all the radio stations in the state apart from being a wilful waste of the state resources was a ruse as there was nothing that could be pointed to that it has achieved.”
