SLY Impact Foundation partners others for sensitisation on safe motherhood, female health care

SLY Impact Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization in collaboration with Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF)
Alimosho/Akowonjo Primary Healthcare Center and Adebukola Adeogun has held a sensitization and Advocacy programe targeted at promoting female awareness on the importance of safe motherhood and reduced maternal mortality rates by enlightening young girls and women about the Female Health care.

The program which was held In Commemoration of April 7th, “World Health Day” On the 10th of April 2025, at the Alimosho LGA featured key players in Girls and Women Advocacy society such as United Nations (UN), International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) and Primary Care Antibiotic Audit and Feedback Network (PAAN) Girls & Women Speak Ambassadors in Nigeria as facilitators.

However, In view of the expediency of female sensitization to safe motherhood, the convener, Adebukola Adeogun pinpointed the Key Objectives of the Advocacy program channeled towards educating women on importance of antenatal care, nutrition, and safe delivery practices. Also, raising awareness about safe motherhood and its significance; promoting access to quality maternal healthcare and Reduced maternal mortality rates

Adeogun, hitherto made a call-to-action for pregnant, nursing and expecting mothers, healthcare professionals, and the community youths to dialogue for safe motherhood and spread the news of improving maternal healthcare in the community and society at large.

Meanwhile, UN/IAWPA/PAAN Girls & Women Speak Ambassadors in Nigeria, Lagos Chapter, Amb. Jessica Nanya Ijeh,
led the conversation on mental health and gender issues. Her advocacy work was amplified through live series and campaigns, creating spaces for dialogue and awareness during her session.

Furthermore, the Founder, Next Initiative for Gender Action Foundation (NIGAF), S.A on Civic Engagement and Political Legislative Matters, Tourism Arts and Culture, Igando LCDA, Alimosho LGA, Amb. Lion Bukola Soaga Bada enlightened the women on taking their hygiene and general health seriously.

She admonished the women to go for health insurance, citing the “Ilera Eko Health Scheme” by the Lagos State Government as an example amongst other affordable and sustainable schemes they can key into to ensure a safe and healthy life.

Moreso, the event featured panel discussions where participants were actively engaged in questions and answers with the facilitators, shared insights and perspectives on the importance of safe motherhood and educational sessions for women on the importance of antenatal care, nutrition, and safe delivery practices.
