SIFAX Group has pledged its support to the Port Authority Police (Western) Command in a bid to strengthen security across the Lagos ports and enhance the safety of lives, property and port infrastructure.

The commitment was made in Lagos yesterday, when the Chairman of SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, received the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Port Authority Police (Western) Command, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, during a courtesy visit to the company.

Afolabi said effective port security requires collaboration among all stakeholders in the maritime ecosystem to ensure a conducive environment for legitimate commercial activities.

He stressed that safeguarding port facilities is critical to sustaining operations and boosting investor confidence in the sector.

He praised Agbaminoja’s track record in her previous postings within the maritime industry and described her appointment as a reflection of the confidence reposed in her by the Nigeria Police hierarchy.

“SIFAX Group has built a solid relationship with CP Toyin Agbaminoja over the years, and we are glad about her new promotion, which demonstrates the trust in her ability to deliver value in the Lagos ports and beyond,” Afolabi said.

“Security requires stakeholder collaboration to be effective and sustainable, and SIFAX Group will continue to support the Port Authority Police Command.”

Earlier, Agbaminoja commended SIFAX Group for its contributions to the maritime industry, noting that the visit was aimed at further strengthening the relationship between the company and the Command, given their shared commitment to maritime security.
