The Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) has hailed the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for ongoing reforms that continue to strengthen the nation’s maritime industry.

SOAN President, Mr. Sonny Eja, gave the commendation when he led members of the Association’s executive committee on a working visit to the NIMASA headquarters. He reaffirmed SOAN’s readiness to partner with the Agency, particularly in areas that promote the growth of indigenous shipping and expand Nigeria’s fleet capacity.

Receiving the delegation, the NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, stressed the importance of collaboration and shared capacity development, describing both as crucial pillars for driving sustainable industry growth.

The meeting brought together senior NIMASA officials and SOAN executives, underscoring a mutual commitment to deepen cooperation, strengthen capacity-building initiatives, and advance the overall development of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
