The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has described the private sector as an indispensable partner in Nigeria’s journey toward national development.

Speaking through the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, during a visit from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the SGF reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.

The SGF highlighted that the economic reforms led by the Tinubu administration are receiving international acclaim, referencing recent commendations from the World Bank.

He urged the organized private sector to continue supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the current bold policies are designed to restore fiscal sustainability and drive long-term prosperity.

In response, LCCI President Engr. Leye Kupoluyi commended the government for its efforts in macroeconomic rebalancing and foreign exchange transparency.

The Chamber specifically advocated for the creation of a structured public-private policy dialogue platform, coordinated through the SGF’s office.

This proposed framework aims to ensure that real-time feedback from business leaders informs the design and execution of government policies, further strengthening investor confidence across the country.
