Seplat Energy Plc. has announced the official exchange rate applicable for the conversion of its Q3 2025 interim and special dividends.
In a statement released on Thursday and signed by Eleanor Adaralegbe, Seplat’s Chief Financial Officer, the company confirmed that shareholders who will receive their dividends in Naira will be paid at an exchange rate of ₦1,443.08 to US$1, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) NFEM rate as of November 12, 2025.
This follows the company’s earlier corporate announcement of October 30, 2025, in which Seplat declared an interim dividend of US$0.05 (five cents) and a special dividend of US$0.025 (two and a half cents) per ordinary share of ₦0.50 each, subject to appropriate withholding tax.
Shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as at the close of business on November 13, 2025, will qualify for the dividend, while the Register of Shareholders will be closed on November 14, 2025, to allow for processing by the registrars.
Seplat explained that dividend payments will be made in Naira or US Dollars only, depending on each shareholder’s preference and eligibility.
Shareholders on the NGX without a valid Certificate of Capital Importation (CCI) will receive payment in Naira, while those with a valid CCI will receive dividends in US Dollars unless they elect to be paid in Naira.
Similarly, shareholders holding their shares through depository interests on the LSE will be paid in US Dollars by default.
The company noted that the dividend payment date is on or around November 28, 2025, and encouraged shareholders who are yet to complete their e-dividend registration to do so via tye assigned registrar companies or their respective banks to ensure prompt crediting of accounts.
