Sen. Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election.
Alli told news men after casting his vote at Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.
He said that the chances of his party emerging victorious were high considering the turnout of supporters at various polling units.
The lawmaker said that reports reaching him indicated that voters conducted themselves responsibly in most polling stations across the constituency, described the process as largely peaceful and fair.
Alli said that few areas experienced minor hitches, including reports of voter intimidation and late arrival of election materials, which he said were promptly addressed by electoral officials.
According to him, the timely intervention of election supervisors helped restore confidence among voters and ensured that the challenges did not disrupt the smooth conduct of the by-election.
Alli commended security agencies, electoral officers and residents for their commitment, urging them to remain peaceful until the conclusion of the election and official announcement of results.
