A 22-year old man, Daniel Akwaji, was on Monday arraigned before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over alleged stealing of a pay-loader valued N40,000.
Akwaji, a security guard at Elalan Construction Company is facing a one-count charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Donjour Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 12.20p.m on July 31, along Ogudu Expressway, Ojota, Lagos.
Perezi said that the defendant stole a manifold part of a pay-loader machine belonging to Elalan Construction Company.
The prosecutor further said that the matter was reported at the police station by a security supervisor, Dosunmu Moshood.
He said that the defendant was apprehended while in possession of the machine part.
Perezi said that the offence contravened Section 280 and 287(7) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, T.O. Atande granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Atanda adjourned the case until Oct. 19, for trial.
