Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed confidence in the readiness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this after visiting the party’s presidential and gubernatorial campaign offices to assess preparations as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the elections.

The governor said the campaign committee had commenced detailed planning and strategy sessions aimed at ensuring that the party records victory across the state.

In a statement shared on his official social media platforms, Sanwo-Olu said he “stopped by our presidential and gubernatorial campaign offices to review our readiness as the journey toward 2027 begins.”

According to him, the campaign committee is already working on its plans and strategies for the election, with party leaders and candidates committed to the task ahead.

“The campaign committee is fully in its element, mapping out the road ahead and sharpening our strategy,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu said the preparations were being carried out with seriousness and organisation, stressing that much of the work was currently taking place behind the scenes.

“There is serious, structured work happening behind the scenes,” the governor stated.

He also highlighted the commitment of the party’s candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is expected to contest the presidential election, and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Lagos.

According to Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu, Hamzat and other APC candidates across the state were “locked in” and focused on the campaign ahead.

He said he was encouraged by the level of energy and sense of purpose displayed by members of the campaign team during his visit.

“I am encouraged by the energy and sense of purpose,” he added.

The governor further assured party supporters that the APC remained united around its objectives and determined to maintain its political strength in Lagos.

“We are focused, aligned and ready to win across the board,” Sanwo-Olu declared.

He linked the party’s campaign to the broader development agenda of Lagos, saying the APC would continue to build on the progress recorded in the state.

“Together, we will keep building on Lagos’s momentum and pushing our state forward,” he said.

The statement comes as political parties and their candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 elections, with campaign structures expected to become more active as the electoral season approaches.

For the Lagos APC, Sanwo-Olu’s remarks signal an early effort to mobilise the party’s structures and maintain coordination among its candidates ahead of what is expected to be a closely watched election.
