Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Taraba State counterpart, Dr Agbu Kefas, have jointly opened the newly completed TY Logistics Park in the Alaro Free Zone, Lekki, a multi-billion-naira project expected to boost Nigeria’s logistics backbone and enhance regional trade.

The modern facility, developed under the leadership of TY Logistics Park Chairman, Theo Danjuma, covers 29,000 square metres and features advanced warehouse management technology.

It is designed as a central distribution hub to support the movement of goods within Nigeria and across the West African sub-region.

Speaking at the launch, Governor Sanwo-Olu applauded the investment as a strong testament to investor confidence in Lagos.

He said the project would play a long-term role in Nigeria’s economic development and highlighted ongoing upgrades within the Lekki industrial axis.

According to him, Lagos is developing a seven-axial logistics road that will link the Lekki Port, Dangote Refinery, and Alaro City, a project aimed at easing pressure on the Lekki-Epe Expressway while improving commercial activity across the corridor.

He urged businesses to take advantage of Lagos’ improving ease of doing business.

Dr Kefas, in his remarks, expressed pride in Taraba’s involvement and described the project as proof that cooperation between states can unlock new economic opportunities and deepen national trade ties.

In his address, the Chairman of TY Logistics Park, Theopilous Danjuma Jr, said the vision for the project began four years ago when his father, Lt General Theophilus Danjuma (retired), approved investment into the land, with a goal to build a modern logistics solution that meets international trade standards to support trade across Nigeria and West Africa.

He noted that the facility will provide contract logistics, digitalised warehouse operations, and end-to-end supply chain solutions for electronics, auto parts, pharmaceuticals, fashion and other sectors.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by renowned billionaire and retired Army Lt General Theopilous Danjuma, his wife, Senator Daisy Danjuma, traditional rulers, religious and political leaders, diplomats, industrial leaders and executives from Alaro City and the Lekki Free Zone, among others
