…as Ibiyemi harps on diligence
In a significant boost to educational advancement in Osun State, the Samuel Ibiyemi Foundation has awarded scholarships to 45 indigenous students to facilitate their admission into various tertiary institutions across the country.
The announcement was made during a four-day JAMB Marathon Lesson, Inter-School Competition, and Seminar held at Osogbo Grammar School on Saturday, an event organized by T.A. Events in collaboration with the Foundation.
Prince Mathew Adesegun Ibiyemi, the Executive Director of Nigerian NewsDirect, served as the guest speaker, where he delivered a charge to the beneficiaries on the importance of readiness.
He characterized preparation as the essential bridge between a student’s current status and their future aspirations, urging the youths to partner with time wisely and avoid undue pressure by maintaining disciplined study habits.
The Project Lead for the initiative, Miss Ifeoluwa Jojolola, explained that the program specifically targeted both current secondary school students and recent graduates who required support to excel in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.
Over 100 students participated in the intensive lessons and Computer-Based Test (CBT) sessions.
While the Samuel Folorunsho Ibiyemi Foundation single-handedly sponsored the purchase of JAMB forms for the 45 students from Ile-Ife, Ilesa, and Osogbo, other partners contributed to the logistics of the lessons and the seminar.
The event also featured an academic rivalry that saw students from Salvation Army School emerge as winners of the inter-school competition, highlighting the high level of engagement fostered by the four-day educational marathon.
